Michael J. Froelich, CPA

 

Mike is a CPA, licensed in the State of Michigan.  After obtaining his BBA from the University of Michigan in 1979 he started his career with the international accounting firm Deloitte, where he accumulated 14 years of experience in the accounting and tax areas. 

 

He was Director of Tax in the firm’s Ann Arbor office and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, and the Michigan Association of CPAs. Mike previously served as a member of the Finance Committee of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and was a member of the Licensing Executives Society, where he completed the rigorous Intellectual Asset Management course. 

 

He also served as a Director of the Oral Drug Delivery Foundation and is past Chair of the Washtenaw County Chapter of the American Red Cross.

 

Mike brings over 30 years of financial, licensing and business management and tax practice experience to bear on his clients’ needs.  In his accounting practice, he specializes in tax-related matters, and is a co-founder of Onset CFO, LLC, a provider of financial management services focusing on growth-oriented companies during their start-up phase. He currently advises several companies in financial matters. 

 

From 1995 to 2000 he was General Manager for PORT Systems, LLC and CFO for TSRL, Inc., two related Life Sciences companies based in Ann Arbor and affiliated with the University of Michigan.  While there he negotiated for and directed the raising of $7+ million in equity and development funding. 

 

He has worked closely with the University of Michigan Technology Transfer Office in securing research and patent rights and has negotiated numerous licensing and development contracts.  Mike served as Secretary/Treasurer, CFO and a member of the board of directors of Precision Stamping Co., Inc., a metal components manufacturing supplier based in Howell, Michigan.

 

Mike also served as the first CFO for Lycera, Corp., a drug discovery company specializing in the treatment of immune disorders and also for Llamasoft, Inc., whose logistics software tools help companies worldwide model their supply chain in order to react quickly to unforeseen events.
